- Advising and Program Implementation
Upon finishing my bachelor’s degree, I took a position teaching English in Bangkok, Thailand. While in Thailand, I worked with students at a private education institute and also volunteered at a non-profit organization for uneducated women. I returned to the United States to attend graduate school at Iowa State University. As graduate student, I held an assistantship in the International Students and Scholars Office. In this position, I managed fall and spring orientation for over 2,000 incoming international students. After briefly working as an International Student and Scholar Advisor at Iowa State, I accepted a position at UNL in the Office of Admissions as an International Admissions Counselor. During my time working for the Office of Admissions, I traveled all over the world to places like Brazil, India, and Vietnam to visit international schools and speak to prospective UNL students.I joined the Education Abroad Office staff in July of 2013!
My Study/Work Abroad
My senior year of college, I studied abroad in Prague, Czech Republic. During my studies, I had the opportunity to travel to Austria, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, and Turkey. While teaching in Thailand, I spent time in Australia, Cambodia, Japan, Laos, and Myanmar. In 2015, I co-led a three-week experience in southern Brazil for students from the College of Business and the College of Education and Human Sciences. In the summer of 2022, I co-led a program to France for students from the College of Engineering.
